About the University

Why Tianjin Medical?

Tianjin Medical University is located in Tianjin, a direct-administered municipality on the northern coast and one of China's largest port cities, well connected to Beijing by high-speed rail. Its MBBS programme runs six years in English, including a one-year internship, with a September intake.

The university has more than twenty affiliated teaching hospitals. Tianjin's climate is temperate monsoon — cold winters and warm summers — and Binhai International Airport is only about twenty kilometres from campus, the shortest transfer of the five Chinese universities.

Tianjin Medical University has one of the longer histories of international medical education in China, in a major northern port city half an hour from Beijing by high-speed rail. It offers something specific: a Beijing-adjacent education, with 20+ affiliated teaching hospitals and comparable climate, at a noticeably lower cost of living than the capital itself.

Tuition, hostel and living costs for Tianjin Medical University are confirmed directly with the university for each intake, and are not published in our current brochure. A counsellor will give you the complete written cost breakdown — including everything payable beyond tuition — before you commit to anything.

Common Questions

MBBS at Tianjin Medical — your questions answered

Yes. Since the National Medical Commission's 2018 regulations, every Indian student who wishes to study medicine abroad and practise in India must qualify NEET-UG. You need only to clear the qualifying percentile — you do not need a rank high enough for an Indian government seat. Without a valid NEET qualification you will not receive an Eligibility Certificate from the NMC, and you will not be permitted to sit FMGE or NExT on your return.
