Bishkek
The capital and by a wide margin the largest city in Kyrgyzstan, laid out on a Soviet grid at the foot of the Tien Shan. It is the country's centre of education, business and administration, and it has hosted Indian medical students for over twenty years — long enough that the supporting ecosystem of food, community and student services is fully settled. Osh and Dordoy bazaars, Panfilov and Dubovy parks and the historical museum are part of ordinary student life; Ala Archa national park and Lake Issyk-Kul are the weekends.
