Nanjing Medical University is located in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province, and heads our China selection. It teaches its MBBS programme in English across six years — five academic years plus a one-year internship — with a September intake.
Its clinical strength is the affiliated hospital network: more than thirty teaching hospitals, the largest of the five Chinese universities in the lineup. Nanjing itself is a major eastern city with a humid subtropical climate, hot summers and mild winters, roughly forty kilometres from Lukou International Airport.
Nanjing Medical University's clinical case rests on the scale of its affiliated network — 30+ teaching hospitals, the largest in our Chinese lineup alongside Capital Medical. The six-year English-medium programme runs five academic years plus a one-year internship on a single September intake, and Mandarin is taught alongside it because the clinical years put students in front of Chinese-speaking patients. It is a research-intensive institution, and undergraduates who want laboratory work can get it during the degree.
