Southern Medical University is based in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province and the centre of the Pearl River Delta. Its MBBS programme runs six years in English — five academic years plus a one-year internship — with a September intake and more than twenty affiliated teaching hospitals.
Guangzhou is one of China's most internationally connected cities, with a long-established foreign resident community. The climate is humid subtropical with hot summers and mild winters, and Baiyun International Airport is roughly forty-five kilometres from campus.
